The First RC Corp team includes seasoned professionals representing numerous trades with in excess of 165 years of combined experience. Together, and individually, we have been involved in every aspect of the business, from the governing agencies of the construction industry, educating new trades people and all phases of single, multifamily and commercial. We have also been involved in Habit for Humanity projects in multiple capacities, including serving on the board of directors, providing licensing for projects and assistance in the coordination construction of multiple homes.

Mr. Charles Reeder has been involved in the construction industry throughout his life other than proudly serving 6 years in the US Air Force during the Viet Nam era. He started in the trades as a boy working for his father, Charles Wm. Reeder who was an active general contractor for 50 years throughout Southern California. Teaching his young son strong, diligent work ethics and leadership, Charles continues to emulate this in his business today.


Charles’ experience includes a variety of residential and commercial developments. His broad range of capabilities includes site acquisition, land use and design, planning and development, engineering, permitting, contracting, operations, project management, material purchasing, construction, and sales. Charles proactively provides servicing the needs of investors and owners for over 40 years with his experience and expertise in onsite construction and field supervision.

Ken Halzle started his career in the construction trade as a laborer in 1962, completed the carpenter apprentice program and went on to become journeymen carpenter. He has worked as a carpenter foreman while studying for and obtaining his general contractor license in 1977.


Ken started his own contracting business with three employees and built it to over 180 men by the end of 1990. He has a vast knowledge of everything from single-family homes to major planned communities, commercial and industrial projects.

Kevin Nagle has been a Project Manager for the past 15 years specializing in multi-family construction and has been responsible for project administration; staffing, construction management and construction draw processing. He has worked for over 36 years in the construction industry with a broad range of knowledge starting with a mechanical C-20 license issued in 1988 followed by a B license issued in 1996. Kevin has worked in the capacity of apprentice, journeyman, superintendent, project manager and has owned his own construction company. For the last 25 years, Kevin has been involved in the construction of multi-family, hotel and housing development with extensive knowledge on off-site, on-site utilities and improvements, grading, foundations with full construction of projects overseeing and coordinating production trades. Project Management duties include subcontract negotiations, contracts, budgeting, estimating, supervision, quality control, inspection, agency approvals and coordination and final turnover to the project owner.


Over his 36 year career he has been responsible for construction, project management and supervision of building over 1500 homes, 3500 units multifamily housing (Podium and garden style walkup) up to five stories, senior housing and commercial mix use and LEED Platinum project.

Mr. Apel is an experienced General Contractor with an emphasis on large-scale single and multi-family residential projects. He participates in all avenues of construction, including planning, building and financing, recently working to successfully obtain a $49M Freddie Mac loan. Mr. Apel’s experience crosses international waters; he has spent significant time working and living in China while overseeing the production of construction materials and products in Shenzhen. Currently, Mr. Apel is the project manager liaising between the property developer and general contractors for an apartment complex which, once built, will boast over 1,000 units.


Mr. Apel earned a B.S. in Finance and a B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in real estate from California State University of Northridge. He holds his general contractor’s license from the California Contractors State License Board and Real Estate Salesperson’s License from the California Department of Real Estate.
